About us
Formerly known as Gas and Electric Catering Services, Scotrange was originally set-up by Steve Wilkie and Audrey Stevenson in 1995. Audrey had just completed her degree in Administration Management and Steve had his own Chip Shop. He knew only too well how difficult it was to adhere to new insurance stipulations with regards to having his Frying Range serviced annually by a Gas Safe Engineer - 'Qualified to Work on Frying Ranges'.
Already a Qualified Electrician, Steve decided to go back to College and successfully studied the required courses and became a Gas Safe Engineer - fully competent as a Gas Fitting Operative in Safe Gas Work within the 'National Accredited Certification Scheme for Individual Gas Fitting Operatives (ISBN 0-96524550-6-4). This qualification coupled with his knowledge and understanding of Chip Shop/Frying - from a fryers point of view - proved invaluable and our customer base and reputation grew from strength to strength.
Several years on Craig Donaldson came onboard, also Gas Safe Registered and with an impressive Degree in 'Electrical and Mechanical Engineering'. Craig has worked with some of the Major Catering Equipment Manufacturers as head of Research and Development. He has been instrumental in the design of many pieces of catering equipment currently on the market.

Our Expertise
Between them, Steve and Craig have over 55 years experience in the catering industry, specialising in Frying Ranges. As a result, over the past years we as a company have accumulated a wealth of experience and knowledge not only in servicing and repairs of many makes and models of ranges, but also with regard to the best and worst features in different ranges and identifying the most reliable components. We also listen to what our customers had to say and noted their likes and dislikes, good experiences and bad experiences with respect to the performance, reliability, quality of build as well as the efficiency of their ranges.
